Medifarma takes its first international leap by acquiring Droguería Magma in Ecuador, entering both the retail and non-retail markets.
Medifarma acquires FARPASA (Farmacéutica del Pacífico) in Peru, adding key mass market and OTC products to its portfolio.
Medifarma acquires Droguería AKRON in Peru, strengthening its ophthalmology portfolio.
Medifarma enters the Brazilian market by acquiring Farmarin, a laboratory specialized in hemodialysis solutions, later expanding its portfolio with parenteral solutions.
Medifarma expands its presence in South America by entering the Uruguayan market through the acquisition of Laboratorio Fármaco Uruguayo. In the same year, the company enters the Paraguayan market with the acquisition of the distributor FUSA.
Medifarma takes a significant step in its history by entering the European market through the acquisition of Laboratorios Atral in Portugal, and simultaneously strengthens its presence in Peru with the acquisition of the distributor Pharbal.
Medifarma incorporates in Peru the Italian line of oral and dental care solutions from Droguería Gianfarma.
Medifarma acquires Laboratorios Hersil in Peru, positioning itself as the leader in the Peruvian pharmaceutical market. That same year, the company also acquired SINEX in Peru, strengthening its portfolio of hemodialysis solutions.
Medifarma enters Colombia by acquiring Corpaul, a laboratory specialized in hospital treatments such as serums and injectables.
Medifarma enters Chile with the acquisition of Laboratorio Sanderson, specialized in serums, ampoules, and hemodialysis concentrates, strengthening its hospital business and integrating its production capacity into the corporation’s regional operations.
