humanova strengthens its oncology portfolio following the execution of an agreement with Bayer, a leading pharmaceutical company, for the commercialization, distribution, and medical promotion in Brazil of two therapies: Nexavar® (sorafenib), indicated for liver, kidney, and thyroid cancer, and Stivarga® (regorafenib), for gastrointestinal tract cancers.
The transaction leverages the expertise of humanova’s Brazilian affiliate, Farmarin humanova, as well as its track record of more than 33 registered molecules across Latin America and Europe.
This agreement reflects a shared vision to combine Bayer’s scientific innovation with humanova’s strong presence in the institutional market in Brazil, expanding access to high-value oncology therapies for more patients.
André Luís Ramos Coutinho, Corporate Director of Oncology and Rare Diseases, highlighted that “our expectation is to strengthen the positioning of these treatments by combining the robustness of Bayer’s portfolio with our commercial execution capabilities.”
Meanwhile, Kauê Cunha, Commercial Excellence Director of Bayer’s pharmaceutical division in Brazil and Latin America, stated that “this agreement reinforces our strategy to maintain our internal efforts and investments in launches that reflect the most innovative developments in their respective areas, while, through such partnerships, we can continue investing in established brands that still have strong potential to positively impact patients’ lives.”
Bayer retains ownership of the product registrations and manufacturing, while Farmarin humanova will lead commercial distribution activities, joining efforts to maximize the value of these therapies and significantly improve patients’ lives.
